Looking for some fun and fellowship this Independence Day Weekend? The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts has just the ticket with four days of fantastic Southern Gospel music beginning Friday, July 1. All “Singing in the Smokies” performances begin at 7 p.m., excluding the July 4 show, which begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 per show for adults, and children ages six and under are $10.
The Friday, July 1 “Singing in the Smokies” show will feature acclaimed Southern Gospel group, The Triumphant Quartet, along with The Hayes Family. This performance will also star the award-winning Inspirations, who have sold well over a million records and charted more than 60 hit songs.
The Saturday, July 2 performance will feature The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, one of the best known quartets in the history of gospel music, along with the enduring Whisnants, and The Inspirations.
The Sunday, July 3 show will showcase The Inspirations, along with The McKameys, the group behind such fan favorites as “I’ve Made Up My Mind,” “Roll that Burden on Me,” “I Will Trust You, Lord” and “God on the Mountain.”
The Independence Day weekend will close with a July 4 “Singing in the Smokies” performance featuring bluegrass sensations, the award-winning Punches Family and Haywood County’s own acoustic wonder Balsam Range. The performance will also feature 40-year veterans of the Southern Gospel stage, The Perrys, along with the inimitable Inspirations.
In addition to the musical performances, the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts will also host two free chapel services on Saturday, July 2, and Monday, July 4, at 9 a.m. Featuring stirring music, prayer, and a Bible message, get your Independence Day weekend off to an inspirational start.
