Arts & Entertainment Events at the Macon library

A program designed for those who may not want to venture out at night but love to listen to Classic Country and Gospel. This music is provided by local musicians that call themselves “Lady & the Old Timers”: One lovely lady and seven old timers, the oldest being 85 years young, providing vocals and music by stringed instruments and one harmonica.

All songs are highlighted by instrumentals by Robert Bradley (mandolin), Roy Ramsey (dobro) and/or Jim Brown (guitar), all local Macon County musicians. Fred Kirkland, formerly of the “Patton String Band,” will be the MC.

For more information, call the library at (828)524-3600. The library is located at 149 Siler Farm Road in Franklin.

The library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
