The Franklin High School Chamber Singers returned home last week with a Superior rating from the North Carolina Music Educators Association’s Music Performance Adjudication held at Brevard College Wednesday, March 12. This is their second Superior rating in the last eight years.
Music Performance Adjudication is designed for choirs to compete against a set standard. The main purpose of the contest to provide feedback to each choir director about where their choir is succeeding and where they may need to focus more attention. Choirs were asked to choose two selections to memorize and perform in front of three judges who then critiqued each piece using a set standard. The ratings are then tallied and then averaged for the final score.
The Chamber Singers are the auditioned choir at FHS. The group is under the direction of Robert Jessup.
