For more information, visit the website at www.franklinfolkfestival.com.The Folk Festival Leadership Committee is working hard in preparation for the Saturday, July 19, festival in downtown Franklin.

The group is stringing beans, and will let them air dry in a warm place to create an old fashioned dish known as “leather britches.” This was done long ago as a way to preserve beans and peas.

The 11th annual Folk Festival will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., in partnership with the Franklin Main Street Program.

Residents and visitors are invited to come and see more than 100 heritage demonstrations and exhibits; have special fun with the Fire Departments Engine Pull competition and Bucket Brigade; listen to bluegrass jam sessions at six locations; Civil War reenactors, children’s activities and much more.
