Prior to the Saturday street festival, Highlands Road Merchants offer free hayrides from 3 to 6 p.m. and treats with merchants through 5 p.m.
Bring your pumpkin (or purchase one downtown) and sign up early for the World Famous Pumpkin Roll sponsored by the Franklin Fun Factory. The “roll” takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with signup running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The winner receives $100 cash. Other highlights of the day include a pumpkin carving contest sponsored by DNET, a costume parade and contest along with crafters, fabulous food, and great entertainment for all ages.
