Grace Baptist Church invites everyone to a special event Crossroads Rescue Mission on Sunday, March 1, at 4:15 we will meet for Dinner in the Family Life Center with the group from Crossroads, 6 p.m., service. Crossroads is group of 40 men who are coming to testify, sing and preach. Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Franklin "Soil is Life" Seminar will be held on Sunday March, 11 a.m. Adam Bigelow, Garden Manager for the Cullowhee Community Garden, will be speaking on how this year, 2015 is International Year of Soils. Soil is the living skin of the Earth. Yet, as environmentalist Vandanna Shiva has noted, we seem to have declared war against the soil itself. There is a paradox here. How will we define the winners and losers of this conflict? And is there cause for optimism? Lest we forget, the soil is an intimate and essential part of the interdependent web of all life of which we are a part.
