Venture Local Franklin's cash mob stormed Mossy Oak on Main Street recently.

With 44 mobsters, members of the community pledged to spend $20 at the locally owned business.

The idea of the cash mobs is to encourage the community to support Franklin's small, locally owned businesses by spending their money ($20 minimum commitment), en masse, to give the business owner a little bit of an economic boost.

Macon County based medical manufacturing company TekTone Sound & Signal is celebrating its 40th year of operation. In addition to being open for four decades, TekTone Sound & Signal is also celebrating a record month in sales, with August being the highest sales month in the company's history.
