Angel Medical Center has announced that Dr. Mahendra N. Patel has successfully completed all of the requirements for certification in Internal Medicine through the Board of Certification in Internal Medicine an AAPS/ABPS affiliated Board of Certification.
In order to attain specialty certification, licensed physicians must meet the rigorous requirements of the appropriate certification board and the AAPS/ABPS. Eligibility requirements include advanced training, significant experience, good moral character and successful completion of a specialty written examination.
Paula Alter, vice president of Physician Services stated, “We are pleased that Dr. Patel achieved his goal of recertification. It illustrates his dedication to continuous learning and improvement which ultimately benefits our hospital and patients.”
Dr. Patel has more than 30 years of experience specializing in Internal Medicine. Dr. Patel received his MD from the University of Manchester Medical School in Manchester, U.K. and his internship for general surgery, urology, and internal medicine at Leighton Hospital, Crewe, U.K.
Dr. Patel has been a part of Angel Medical Center since February 2009.
ABPS is the third largest national multi-specialty certifying organization in the US and represents thousands of physicians in a myriad of specialties and types of practices. AAPS was organized in 1950 to provide a clinically recognized mechanism for specialty certification of physicians with advanced training.
