Craft beer in Franklin didn’t just come to town, it moved into the old Town Hall. Lazy Hiker Brewing Co. has transformed the former town hall and fire department into a fully functioning production craft brewery complete with taproom, patio on Main Street, and outdoor event space.

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon- cutting celebration on their official opening day. The brewery is the first of its kind for Franklin and continues the expansion and success of craft beer in Western North Carolina.

Craft beer has reinvented the brewing industry in the past 30 years. By the end of the 1970s, brewing in the U.S. was being done by a small number of corporations producing an even smaller selection of styles.
