Effective Aug. 24, 2011, phone numbers have changed for some state offices located in the Macon County Courthouse. Due to an updated statewide telephone system and a new statewide calling plan, many counties across the state are receiving updated phone numbers.
The new telephone numbers are after the jump!

Once the new telephone numbers are in effect, an automated intercept message will be put into place to inform callers of the new phone number.
“This is a statewide effort,” said Vic Perry, Clerk of Superior Court for Macon County, “that has been in the planning and implementation stages by the Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC) for a number of years. It is being paid for by a phone fee that was added to court costs several years ago.”
“We are, of course, hoping for a smooth transition to the new phone system with a minimum number of glitches,” Perry added, “but any time a new technology is added, there is the potential for problems as employees familiarize themselves with new ways of doing things. I hope the public will bear with us, because I believe the new phones will ultimately be more efficient for people calling in to our offices and for our staff as well.”
