News Community Senior Awards Day 2011

Student Body President Kaitlyn SuttonSenior Awards were handed out May 27 in the Franklin High School gymnasium recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of FHS seniors as they prepare to leave the school for the next stage of their lives. Presenting awards was the 2010-11 FHS Teacher of the Year, Vickie Sutton, along with Pam Cabe and Bill Horniak, assistant principals.

The School Spirit Award is one of Franklin High School’s most prestigious awards. It is given to the young man and woman who best exemplify and promote pride in their school. This year the two recipients of the School Spirit Award are Cori Sellers and Richard Moses

On Senior Award’s Day, the Citizenship Award is the highest honor that a student can receive.

The young man and woman selected to receive the award continually exhibit honesty, integrity, and a willingness to assume responsibility. Not only do these students demonstrate pride in their school and community through their involvement in various activities, but they exhibit genuine concern for broader issues affecting society as a whole. These students are truly to be commended, and FHS is proud to honor Kaitlyn Sutton and Ben Carrion

The Marine Corps presented the Scholastic Excellence Award, for an academic scholar who is a leader among her peers and an outstanding young citizen - Jennifer Richter

Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence, for a student recognized as an outstanding musical performer, a leader among her peers and an outstanding young citizen - Brittany Green

Athletic Excellence Award, for outstanding athletic performance, leadership, and competitive drive - Tim McAllister, Genevieve Emrick

The American Legion presents their award to students exhibiting courage, honor, leadership, patriotism and scholarship - Kaitlyn Sutton, Jacob Bingham.
