The 3rd annual Ruby Bash Rally and Joy Poker Run will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center located on the Georgia Road. The rally is sponsored by the Dedicated Bikers of WNC and REACH of Macon County.
A $15 gate fee will be charged that includes a meal voucher and door prize, plus $20 or an unwrapped toy of equal value per bike entry. The toys will be given to children that have been victims of domestic violence.
A bike show will include first place trophies for each category: Custom, Cruisers, All Vintage and Most Ugly and Best in Show. Mulligans Sports Bar and Grill will also sponsor a bike wash. Bikers and visitors can place their chance on raffles and the various vendors with BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream, bakery items, biker apparel, biker accessories, local gem mines, crafters, and jewelers.
New to this year’s rally is the Toy Poker Run. Donate a toy or $20 per bike entry and the winning hand receives $100 donated by the Dedicated Bikers of Western North Carolina.
For those participating in the ride, kickstands up at 11 a.m. and head north on Hwy 28 to Cycle Crazy for the first stop. On to Hwy 19 making a left towards The Nantahala Gorge, then left on Wayah Bald Road to Lake Side Restaurant for the third stop. On to Loafers Glory filling station on the right for the final stop before returning back to the rally for the rest of the festivities.
The Band Competition starts at 2 p.m. and the winner will be announced around 8 p.m. Overall awards will be announced between 5 and 6 p.m.
