Beldings celebrate 65th anniversary

Robert and Edith Belding, married in Oceanside, N.Y., on Feb. 7, 1948, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. They resided in Hyde Park, N.Y. for 32 years and retired to Franklin, N.C. in 1986. They are both World War II veterans.

Mr. Belding served in the Navy and Mrs. Belding served in the Marines. Mr. Belding was the president of the Nantahala Hiking Club for two years and the director of the Franklin Consort for 25 years.

They have two children, Dianna Gilbert of Franklin, Jeff Belding of Albany, N.Y. and four grandchildren.
