On Saturday, Feb. 16, Franklin High School's student council hosted the 2013 Mr. and Miss FHS Masquerade Ball. The court was composed of 12 seniors, eight juniors, six sophomores and four freshman who were nominated by the teachers and faculty and voted on by the FHS student body.
The ceremony took place in the FHS gym where the newly crowned Mr. and Miss FHS were seniors Drew Simpson and Kelsey Sheffield. Due to the snowy weather the dance was cancelled immediately following the crowning.
Drew is a senior and the son of David Simpson and Gary and Anna Shields. He is an All-Conference player and is captain of the boys varsity basketball team. Drew serves as the Student Body president and has been a member of the student council for the past four years; is active in the National Honor Society; and serves on the SWAG Club.
Kelsey Sheffield is the daughter of Eddie and Carol Sheffield. She is a member of the varsity soccer team, the National Honor Society, Student Council, SWAG Club and serves as the editor of the yearbook.
