Renovations to the Macon County Recreation Park pool are virtually complete, the pool has been filled with water, and the gates are slated to open this Saturday for the summer season.
“I am very excited to open the doors to the Macon County Recreation Park pool this Saturday at Noon,” said Seth Adams, parks and recreation director for Macon County. “Visitors will see many changes that I’m sure they are going to love. I am very happy with how the pool has turned out, and am looking forward to showing everyone.”
The $546,000 project started last fall and brings the facility up to ADA compliance and provides a separate children's pool, new showering facilities and even added a slide.
The pool will be open Monday – Friday from 12 to 6 p.m. (closing at 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays for swim meets). Lap Swim will be held 9 to 10 a.m. and groups from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Family Night Friday will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The pool will be open on Saturday's from 12 noon until 5 p.m. with swim lessons from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Pool parties can be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Admission prices to the pool will be $2 for children 5 and under, and $4 for adults. Lap swim will be $1 and a 10 pass package can be purchased for $35. Family Night is $2 a person, swim lessons are $5 per lesson and pool parties are $125.
