I am writing this letter to reflect on the changes here in Macon County. I am a lifelong resident who was born here and lived here since 1953. I don’t know if the changes were for the good or bad.
I was heartbroken to see Iotla School torn down. I went 8 years there and graduated. Also the changing of Hwy 28 which I have driven on for 42 years.
Now we have a extended airport, wanting to mess up Needmore and wanting to tear down McCoy Bridge.
Cannot anyone appreciate Macon County for what it is or should you say, what is left.
In the last 30 or 40-some years I’ve seen a lot of changes.
It might be good for some but not so good for a lot who was born and raised here. But we still have our memories which is not for personal gain or for a dollar.
Maybe one day we will be like Atlanta or all these other high crime areas.
I hate to see it but I guess times change for the good or the bad.
