Photos by Maria TallentFranklin High School basketball hit the road again as they met the Smoky Mountain Mustangs for a second time this season on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

The second ranked Lady Panthers, who were coming off 82-50 and 70-27 wins over Brevard and Swain County were able to keep the momentum going as they blasted Smoky, 63-42. They now move to 12-2 overall.

The fifth ranked men's basketball team saw their two game winning streak come to an end as the Mustangs handed the team their sixth loss of the season, moving them to a 13- 6 record overall. Down by four points at half-time, they were never able to overcome the deficit, eventually losing 61-48.

The Panthers start the weekend off by playing North Henderson at home Friday, Feb. 1.

The Wednesday, Jan. 30 game against Pisgah was cancelled due to weather and was rescheduled for Feb. 6.
