The WNC Challenge League Soccer Season is under way. This year Macon County Soccer is fielding four teams in the spring league — three U12 teams: girls division are the MCSC Grasshoppers and in the Boys division are the MCSC Storm and the MCSC Highlanders and one U14 boys division team, the MCSC Panthers. Each team is playing an eight-game schedule.

The popular British Soccer Camp is coming back to Franklin the week of July 11-15. The camp will be held at the Macon County Industrial Park Fields. Players can register by going to the MCSC web site at www.maconsoccer.net/ and follow the links for the British Soccer Camp or by going to Challenger Sports at www.challengersports.com.

Challenger’s British Soccer Camp is the most popular soccer camp in the USA and Canada. More than 110,000 boys and girls will learn the “Challenger Way” at some 2,500 British Soccer Camps this summer. British Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts.

The camp includes a free camp shirt and camp ball, a giant fold out soccer poster and a personal player evaluation. Plus get a free British Soccer replica jersey by signing up online 45 days prior to camp.

Visit the Challenger Sports website for more information. Half and full day sessions are available and costs vary from $60 to $145 depending on age group and skill level. If you have any questions, contact Michael Fowler-Berken at (828)524-0476.
