Two-time All Conference award winner Ben Carrion signed his letter of intent to play football for Appalachian State University Friday, March 18 at the Panther Pit.

Carrion excelled on both sides of the football and played offensive tackle and defensive tackle for Josh Brook’s Franklin Panther football team.

“Playing for Franklin taught me how to be physically and mentally tough,” said Carrion.


The Second Team All Western North Carolina lineman plans on bringing that toughness as well as a hard-working no-nonsense attitude to the Appalachian State football program.

Carrion, who is just seventeen years old, will begin his tenure at Appalachian State this fall and hopes to attain a bachelors degree in Athletic Training.

DeWayne Isaacs signed his letter of intent to play football for Mars Hill College Friday, March 18 at The Panther Pit.

Isaacs received All Conference honors twice and proved to be tenacious at Middle Linebacker for FHS.

His record of 283 tackles is the most ever at Franklin High School.

Isaacs plans on playing Outside Linebacker for the Lions of Mars Hill and hopes to attain a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

He will begin his career at Mars Hill this fall.
